I had a fantastic year of reading in 2022. I read a wide range of books that kept me engaged and entertained, and I learned a lot from each one. Here are the top 5 books that inspired and entertained me the most.

One of the top books on my list was “Storyworthy” by Matthew Dicks. This book was a great guide to telling compelling stories that engage and inspire others. I enjoyed learning about the elements of a good story and how to craft them in a way that captures the attention of the audience.

The Ocean of Churn” by Sanjeev Sanyal was another standout read for me. This book offers a fascinating exploration of the history of the Indian Ocean and its role in shaping the world we know today. Sanyal’s storytelling and the way he brought the past to life captivated me.

The Making of a Manager” by Julie Zhuo was a great resource for anyone looking to improve their leadership skills. I found the advice in this book to be straightforward and actionable. One of the things I appreciated most about “The Making of a Manager” was the way it tackled the challenges of leadership head-on. Zhuo offers practical advice on how to build and lead a team, communicate effectively, and make tough decisions.

I also appreciated the way Zhuo drew on her own experiences as a manager to illustrate the concepts she was discussing. Her anecdotes and examples helped bring the concept to life and made it easier to understand and apply.

Overall, “The Making of a Manager” was a valuable resource for me, and I took away several valuable insights that I was able to apply in my career. If you’re looking to improve your leadership skills, I highly recommend this book.

While I loved reading all these books, two in particular left lasting impressions on me. Both of these books were thought-provoking, beautifully written, and deeply meaningful, and I will carry their insights with me for years to come.

The first book was “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl. This poignant and thought-provoking book explored the human quest for purpose and fulfillment, and I found it to be deeply moving. Frankl’s insights into the human condition and how we find meaning in life resonated with me, and I came away from this book with a renewed sense of purpose and direction.

The other book that left a lasting impression on me was “Einstein’s Dream” by Alan Lightman. This thought-provoking book explored the concept of time and its role in our understanding of the universe, and I found it to be both intellectually stimulating and emotionally powerful. Lightman’s writing was beautiful, and I was struck by the timeless wisdom contained in this book. Here is one of my favorite lines from the book:

“It is only habit and memory that dull the physical passion; without memory, each night is the first night, each morning is the first morning, each kiss and touch are the first.”

― Alan Lightman, Einstein’s Dreams

Overall, 2022 was a fantastic year of reading for me, with a diverse range of books that kept me engaged and entertained. I was able to learn new things, gain valuable insights, and be inspired by the words of others. Here’s to many more great reads in the future!
